Google is no doubt one of the most searched website in the world. The amount of traffic that Google gets is in more than millions. Google search, Gmail, Google Maps, Google AdWords tool, Google Analytics and the list goes on.

Google always work to keep the user interface as friendly as possible, and they are pretty much successful in doing so as well. So, today I would be sharing with you some tips & tricks that you can use to make your experience with Google more effective & efficient.

5 Tips & Tricks to use Google Efficiently:

1. Sign Out Previous Sessions Remotely

Sometimes, we open our mail accounts from friend’s system or from a cafe, and we forget to sign out. What will you do in that situation? Worried, don’t know what to do.

I would say, don’t worry because here’s the solution. Log on to your Gmail account and scroll down to the bottom. You will be able to see “DETAILS” written at the bottom right of your Gmail account.

Click on it. A pop up window will appear and you will be able to see the details of all the sessions that you have opened. Click on “Sign Out All Other Sessions” and they will logged out. Now your Gmail account is safe.

2. Bold, Italic & Strike-through in Google Chat

Yes, you can now use bold, italic & strike-through styles in chats. Here’s how to use them:

To ‘BOLD‘ the text, you need to surround the text with asterisks (*chat*). It will appear as a bold text to the other person.

To ‘ITALIC‘ the text, you need to surround the text with underscore (_chat_). It will appear as italic to the other person.

To ‘STRIKE – THROUGH’ the text, you need to surround the text with hyphens (-chat-). It will appear as strike through to the other person.

3. Emails Were Sent To You or To a Group

You can check whether emails were directly sent to you or to a group of people by altering one simple setting on the settings page of your Gmail account. Here’s how to do:

Go to the settings page of your Gmail account, scroll down to the bottom part of it. You will be able to see “Personal Level Indicators”. There will be two options: 1) No Indicators 2) Show Indicators

You need to select show indicators, and you will be able to see an arrow message before the email that is being sent to you directly.

4. Revision History

If you are using Google Drive to create or view a document, chances are that you need to see the previous versions of the documents. And here’s how revision history comes into picture.

You simply need to click on File > Revision History. And you will get a list of previous versions of the document that you are currently viewing. You can simply click the version number & access the file. Yes, it’s damn simple.

5. Send Drive Files Directly from Gmail

You can easily attach the Google Drive files in your Gmail. Yes, it will help you to send files larger than 25MB as well. So, how to go about it?

Here’s the answer. When you compose your email, at the bottom of the page, near the send button: You will be able to see the Google Drive button. Click on it, and it will take you to your drive. Select the files which you want to send, and click ok. Now click on the send button, and email will be sent to the email address that you have mentioned along with the URL from where the user can download the file.
